This is the second lesson in a four-part series called “Swordplay: Wisdom for Wielding the Word.” The four lessons in this series all deal with the doctrine of the Bible. The Bible is your spiritual sword. However, a sword is not much good if you don’t know how to use it correctly. What we are going to see this week is that identifying the genre is similar to learning to swing a sword. Getting the appropriate sword motion and body movements right is essential to handling a sword. Likewise, understanding the type of genre is critical to ensuring that you are using your Bible effectively and appropriately.
